I grew up moving around a lot. We lived in various places in the world and it was always an adventure. When I got older, I realized it was a heavy task. We always had a moving company take care of the actual move, so we were never driving a rental truck around. We used moving storage options every time. How do I use pods?

On the day you requested, the company’s truck delivers the pods to your home. You fill them at your own pace, then call the company to pick them up. When you are ready to have the pods delivered to your new house, you call the company, and they deliver them to whatever address you specify. Once you have emptied the pods, you call again, and the company comes and reclaims them. You may not even need to be there when the company brings and removes the pods.

Are there any special considerations I should know about?

Packing moving pods is not quite like packing a moving van. Instead of putting the heaviest objects at the front of the container, you should spread the weight evenly across the floor of the container, with heavy objects on the bottom and lighter objects on top. You should also take extra care to pad your belongings, since the container might tip and rock slightly when it is loaded and unloaded. Also, if the pod company does not provide a padlock, you will need to buy one yourself.
