Most storage pod companies will just charge you a flat rate in the neighborhood of $200 rather than charge you per day. Also when choosing to drop it off at your new house they don not charge too much extra. The actual price ranges from $500 to $2500 depending on how many storage pods you need and if you are doing any additional storage with them. Pods are not used just for people that are looking to move.
